Hosted at The Astorian, the annual Akin Rodeo Kickoff Holiday Party delivered a refined interpretation of Western luxury through immersive branding, experiential design, and high-energy celebration. Designed as a signature corporate event for Akin, the space was transformed into a fully branded environment where music, design, and atmosphere worked together seamlessly.
Beyond Bloems provided full-service event design, floral styling, and production, creating a cohesive experience that blended elevated Western elements with modern corporate branding.
Branded Entry Experience | First Impression Design
From the moment guests arrived, branding was intentionally layered into the environment. A custom entry installation featuring an “Akin Rodeo” statement wall set the tone, accented with neon leather signage and cascading balloon elements.
This first impression established the event’s identity immediately, creating a strong visual moment while guiding guests into the immersive experience ahead.
Experiential Branding | Layered Touchpoints
Inside the venue, branding extended across every touchpoint. From custom cocktails and branded napkins to lemons and limes stamped with the Akin name, each detail reinforced the brand in a way that felt intentional and elevated.
Neon signage placed throughout the space added energy and continuity, ensuring that no matter where guests moved, the brand presence remained cohesive without feeling overwhelming.
Cocktail and Lounge Design | Western-Inspired Details
The layout encouraged movement and discovery, with barrel high-top tables styled throughout the space. Each table featured miniature Western boots repurposed as floral vessels, introducing a playful yet refined nod to rodeo culture.
A “Howdy Y’all” balloon installation served as a high-impact photo moment, complete with Western-inspired elements such as cowboy hats and rope detailing. Lounge seating areas softened the space, styled in layered ivories, blues, and navy tones to balance the warmth of the overall palette.
Statement Installations | Music and Visual Storytelling
Music served as the heartbeat of the evening, culminating in a live performance by the Randy Rogers Band. In honor of the musical focus, the catering display featured oversized guitar installations resting on a bed of lush florals, visually tying the design to the night’s main performance.
The bar became a central focal point, anchored by a six-foot-tall disco horse installation positioned above and beside it. Draped in cascading blooms styled as a floral saddle, the piece served as both a sculptural centerpiece and an interactive photo moment.
Additional Western figurines dressed in cowboy and cowgirl attire were placed throughout the space, adding layers of personality and visual storytelling.
Floral Design and Atmosphere
Florals leaned into a rich, textural fall palette of burgundy, brown, and warm tan tones, selected to complement the venue’s industrial architecture. Exposed brick, metal finishes, chandeliers, and dramatic lighting created a moody backdrop that allowed the floral design and décor to stand out.
The interplay between warm tones, layered textures, and refined styling created an environment that felt both elevated and immersive.
Design Approach
This Houston corporate event reflects Beyond Bloems’ approach to experiential design, where branding, environment, and guest interaction are thoughtfully integrated.
The result was a celebration that felt bold, cohesive, and unforgettable. Elevated yet playful, polished yet energetic, the Akin Rodeo Kickoff Party demonstrated how intentional design can transform a corporate event into a fully immersive brand experience.
