Demi and Michael’s wedding in New Orleans took place at Marché, where the celebration was intentionally designed as two fully separate reception environments. This dual-room approach allowed guests to move seamlessly between dining and celebration, creating a dynamic experience that balanced intimacy, energy, and flow throughout the night.
Beyond Bloems provided full-service floral design and event production, transforming the venue into a cohesive, design-forward wedding that blended modern styling with classic New Orleans tradition.
Dining Room | Elevated and Social Reception Space
One side of the ballroom was dedicated to dining, designed as a refined and welcoming space where guests could gather, eat, and connect. Round tables were styled with floral centerpieces, complemented by a mix of food stations and a full-service bar, creating a layout that felt both structured and social.
The environment encouraged conversation and ease, offering a comfortable setting for guests to enjoy the culinary experience before transitioning into the celebration.
Party Room | Lounge-Style Celebration Design
The second room was designed as the heart of the celebration. A custom black and white checkered dance floor anchored the space, immediately setting the tone for a bold, high-energy environment.
Surrounding the dance floor, lounge seating and high-top tables created a layered experience, allowing guests to engage with the celebration in multiple ways. Sofas were positioned to frame the dance floor, offering a direct view of both the DJ and the crowd, while maintaining a sense of comfort and flow throughout the room.
Three focal points defined the space: a bespoke DJ booth, a champagne tower, and a dedicated cake display, each placed to enhance visibility and draw guests into the center of the celebration.
Statement Installation | Custom Tree Design
To elevate the space, 18-foot custom green trees were brought in and installed around the dance floor. These sculptural elements introduced height, movement, and organic texture, transforming the party room into an immersive, lounge-inspired environment with a modern edge.
The combination of structured flooring, soft seating, and natural elements created a balance between bold design and relaxed luxury.
Spatial Flow and Guest Experience
Guests were able to move fluidly between the dining and party rooms, creating a natural rhythm throughout the evening. The separation of spaces allowed each environment to fully serve its purpose without compromise.
A wraparound balcony extended from the party room, accessible from both sides of the dance floor. This outdoor space offered an additional layer to the experience, complete with its own bar and vantage points overlooking the celebration below. Guests could step outside, reset, and return without ever leaving the energy of the event.
New Orleans Wedding Tradition | Second Line Celebration
In true New Orleans fashion, the celebration included a traditional second line, bringing a cultural and energetic moment to the wedding. This iconic procession added movement, music, and local character, tying the overall design into the spirit of the city.
Design Approach
This New Orleans wedding reflects Beyond Bloems’ approach to experiential event design, where layout, movement, and atmosphere are carefully considered to create a fully immersive guest experience.
By dividing the reception into two distinct environments, the celebration became more than a single event space. It became a journey, allowing guests to dine, celebrate, and explore at their own pace while remaining fully connected to the energy of the wedding.
