Always Be My Baby | A Candlelit Baby Shower at Ronin Art House

Some celebrations begin with a color palette. This one began with a song.

Throughout her pregnancy, Laila ended nearly every evening listening to Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby. By the time she began planning her baby shower, the song had become part of her son's story, making the theme feel less like a concept and more like a reflection of the journey that brought everyone together.

Together, we created an intimate, candlelit celebration where warmth took the place of florals. Soft ivory draping transformed the industrial venue, while silver candelabras wrapped in rich brown satin bows and layers of candlelight created a setting that felt comforting, romantic, and deeply personal. Guests dressed in shades of brown became part of the palette, surrounding one long table designed for conversation and connection.

The most meaningful details were the ones guests could take with them. Wooden alphabet blocks became future nursery toys, artwork created during the celebration would later hang on the baby's walls, and a guessing game filled the beginning of his first Hot Wheels collection. Even the silverware and crystal goblets carried history, returning from Laila and her husband's wedding table to mark the beginning of their next chapter. Instead of ordering dessert, Laila baked the cake herself, adding another personal touch to a day built on intention.

As guests departed, they received engraved silver lighter covers reading Always Be Mine, a quiet nod to the song that inspired it all. More than a baby shower, the afternoon became a collection of keepsakes, each one carrying a piece of the love that surrounded their son long before he arrived.
